Mobile Dog Groomer

San Francisco · Full-time or part-time

You’ll drive to customers’ homes and groom their dogs in the van. You’ll need to be comfortable working on your own, talking with owners, and knowing when a dog needs a break.

What you’ll do

• Bathe, dry, brush, and cut dogs’ coats. Trim their nails.
• Ask owners about the haircut they want and anything their dog needs.
• Write down what you did and anything to remember for next time.
• Keep the van, grooming station, and tools clean and ready between appointments.
• Find safe parking, meet owners and their dogs, and let customers know if you’re running late.
• Ask for help if a dog is distressed or you’re unsure what to do.

What you’ll need

• Professional dog grooming experience. We’ll ask to see some of your work.
• Experience grooming dogs of different sizes, coat types, and temperaments.
• Patience with dogs and good judgment about what’s safe.
• A valid driver’s license and the ability to drive and park a van on SF streets.
• The ability to work on your own, be on time, and talk clearly with customers.

Pay and schedule

Pay: $30–$40 per hour, depending on experience, plus tips. We’ll talk about hours and the job details when we meet.
